Akasa air, a budget carrier, stated on thursday that it intends to buy 150 Boeing 737 MAX narrowbody planes. The initiative aims to increase the airline's reach in both local and international operations, as well as strategically position itself in India's burgeoning aviation sector.

Akasa air made the news during the "WINGS india 2024" event in Hyderabad. It should be noted that Akasa Air's most recent 150-aircraft deal includes Boeing's 737 MAX 10 and 737 MAX 8-200 jets. It excludes the contentious Max 9 model of the aeroplane, which has been grounded.

It should be mentioned that the Wings india event has drawn significant stakeholders in the aviation business, including aircraft manufacturers, airlines, and government representatives. This collective focus on the aviation sector highlights the industry's resilience and adaptability, especially given the rising emphasis on international routes. Akasa Air's decision to make a new order for a large number of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft is consistent with the larger trend of carriers globally preparing for a revival in air travel.

Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO of Akasa air, stated at the occasion, "This significant and historic aircraft order puts Akasa on track to become one of the top 30 major airlines in the world by the turn of this decade. Akasa's phenomenal rise demonstrates India's immense potential as an aviation industry, and we are excited to be a part of it."

Dube noted that the fleet additions will assist to strengthen operations as the newest indian airline intends to develop locally and globally. "Each addition to our fleet takes us closer to fulfilling our mission of connecting people, places, and cultures. We are confident in our capacity to serve millions of pleased passengers throughout the world as we enter the next chapter of our expansion," he added.
