In Andhra Pradesh, criticism has emerged over the actions of a contractor who built a village secretariat in Sangupalem, Pittalavanipalem mandal, in joint guntur district. The contractor, who recently completed the construction of the village secretariat, has drawn public ire for locking the building and not providing the final bill. This has raised questions about the steps the jagan government will take in response to such actions.
The village secretariat, built with a budget of Rs. 40 lakh, was inaugurated two months ago by local ycp mla kona raghupathi in the presence of other public representatives. However, despite the inauguration, the village secretariat has not been shifted to the new building, and it continues to operate from a rented space.
The reason for this delay became apparent when it was revealed that the contractor had not yet received the final payment for the construction. The contractor's decision to lock the building until the payment is settled has caused a stir, especially since the final bill has not been issued.
Typically, bills are processed and funds are released based on priority. However, the delay in settling the bill has led to the contractor withholding the keys to the building even after its inauguration. This situation has sparked criticism and raised concerns about the government's response to such incidents.
