On january 26, during the exciting audio launch of aishwarya Rajinikanth's film 'Lal Salaam' in Chennai, Rajinikanth discussed religion, Hinduism, Sanatan, the Bhagavad Gita, and other topics in his inimitable way. Rajinikanth began his remarks by expressing condolences for the recent deaths of Ilaiyaraaja's daughter, Bhavatharini, and Captain Vijayakanth. He also addressed the issue following his speech at the Jailer event in July 2023, when he discussed the controversial lyrics of the song "Hukum," which some feel are directed at actor Vijay.

In that address, Rajinikanth utilized a metaphor to make his point: "In the world of birds, a crow disturbs everyone. An eagle, on the other hand, stays undisturbed. When a crow annoys an eagle, it does not respond; it merely passes on to the next level." This comparison communicated the concept that a higher power, such as an eagle, is not concerned by the acts of a crow. This sparked a rush of trolling from Vijay's supporters, who were offended by Rajini's subtle jab at their idol.

In his most recent address at the Lal Salaam event, Rajinikanth stated, "Many misinterpreted my 'Crow and Eagle' story as an attack on Vijay." It bothers me that people perceive it as a competition. Both of us have mentioned that we are special in our own way. Vijay has grown from a tiny beginning to a major fame, embracing politics and working in social welfare. I am constantly supportive of him. Please do not bring up such misconceptions again. I just wanted to make it obvious."
