The Budget Session of parliament begins today, with President Droupadi Murmu addressing a combined session of the lok sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Budget Session is the penultimate Parliamentary session before the lok sabha elections later this year. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will unveil the interim budget on february 1st (Thursday). The new administration will submit the whole budget once it takes office. The budget session is slated to finish on february 9.

'Introspect': PM Modi's message to unruly MPs before start of Budget session

Ahead of the Budget session of parliament, prime minister Narendra Modi on wednesday asked the Opposition MPs, who were suspended in the last session for their unruly behaviour, to introspect. He said nobody would remember the unruly behaviour of the Opposition lawmakers.

What will be the primary topics covered during the Budget session?
According to Parliamentary Affairs minister Prahlad Joshi, the main agenda of the Budget Session will be President Droupadi Murmu's address to both the lower and upper houses, the presentation of the interim budget by Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address, with a reply by prime minister Narendra Modi.
