The distinction between genuine patriotism and its violent equivalent, jingoism, is as thin as celluloid. It is also commonly obscured in hindi cinema stories. The film 'Fighter' starring hrithik roshan has revived the 'patriotism vs jingoism' controversy. Directed by siddharth anand, 'Fighter' became mired in controversy shortly after the publication of its trailer. Many people mentioned the scene in the film in which Hrithik Roshan's character refers to 'Indian-occupied Pakistan' as a perfect example of jingoistic behaviour.
