The telangana administration agreed on sunday to alter the state's abbreviation to 'TG' from the current 'TS'. The decision was made at a state cabinet meeting led by chief minister A. revanth Reddy. Following the Cabinet's decision, 'TG' will replace 'TS' in the Union government gazette. After the creation of telangana in 2014, the trs administration chose 'TS' as the state abbreviation.

Briefing the media on the Cabinet's choices, minister D. sridhar Babu stated that the previous administration did not follow any rules and opted to use 'TS' at its discretion.

Following this ruling, car registration numbers will now include the 'TG' prefix.

The cabinet decided to implement an announcement made by revanth reddy during the election campaign. He had stated that 'TG' was substituted by 'TS' only to benefit the trs party. He pointed out that no other state in the country includes the word state in the alphabet component of its automobile registration numbers.

The cabinet has resolved to modify the telangana Talli monument to reflect the emotions of telangana residents. It choose to use Andesri's "Jai jai Ho Telangana" as the state song. It was also agreed to create a new state emblem after consulting with all parties.

The cabinet resolved to hold a state assembly session beginning february 8. It approved the Governor's remarks. Following the Assembly's discussion, it was also determined to enact two further assurances.

These assurances include petrol cylinders for Rs.500 and free power for up to 200 units per home. The cabinet also resolved to conduct a caste census in the state. Other major choices included notifying the kodangal Area Development Authority, upgrading 65 government ITIs to advanced technology centres, allocating 100 acres of land for the construction of a High Court, and developing rules for awarding remission to prisoners.
