The political crisis that emerged with the news of a minister's resignation and cross-voting in the rajya sabha election has been contained by the congress administration in Himachal Pradesh. The budget was approved by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led congress administration on Wednesday. minister vikramaditya Singh also said that he will hold off on resigning until after the leaders' negotiations are completed, providing the congress some breathing room.
 
As the party leadership ruled out the prospect of a change of leadership in the state, chief minister Sukhu issued a summons for a meeting of congress MLAs and Ministers. At about eleven a.m., the Speaker is scheduled to address the media.

• In Tuesday's election for the only rajya sabha seat, congress veteran abhishek Manu Singhvi lost to bjp contender Harsh Mahajan by a coin toss. The two candidates received 34 votes apiece.
