Several locations in the city will experience an 18-hour water service interruption on march 9 and 10, as a result of continuing maintenance projects carried out by the hyderabad Metropolitan Water service and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). HMWSSB authorities claim that there was a significant leak in the Osman Sagar Reservoir, which provides the city with fresh water through a conduit.

The water supply will be cut off for eighteen hours, from march 9 at 6 a.m. to march 10 at 12 a.m., in order to fix the leak. These regions are gandhi nagar, Khairatabad, red Hills, Kakatiya nagar, nampally railway station, and Vijay nagar Colony.

Many manikonda residents struggled with acute water shortage; in some locations, there was no drinkable water for up to four days. Residents were eager to pay for the service, however complaints occurred about water tankers not being available. The lack of water delivery for four days in a row put residents of various colonies, including Friends colony in Puppalaguda, EVV colony, Pioneer estate, Pasha Colony, shiva Temple road, and Alkapuri Township, in a terrible predicament. Many locals were forced to resort to private water tankers to get respite from this shortage. The situation for the impacted residents was made worse by the outrageous fees that these tankers asked for.
