Hyderabad's drinking water demands this summer will be met by the reserve, according to a press release issued by the HMWS&SB on Tuesday. The Water Board is importing 270 MGD of water per day from nagarjuna sagar Reservoir and Akkampally Balancing Reservoir through krishna Drinking Water Supply Phases 1, 2, and 3 for communities inside the ORR as well as Hyderabad. Based on that computation, 1.38 TMC of water is delivered each month.

The announcement said that as of Tuesday, nagarjuna sagar has a 514.10-foot water storage capacity of 138.73 TMC. At 539.40 feet of water, it was 187.07 TMCs on the same day the previous year. As of right now, 7.06 TMCs of water are accessible above the 510-foot dead storage level.

They reiterated that there won't be any interruptions to the 270 MGD water delivery this summer and mentioned that authorities are periodically checking the water levels. Emergency pumping will be used, plans for which have already been finalized when the water level hits 510 feet.

To transfer water from dead storage in the Yellampally reservoir for the Godavari floods, emergency pumping has been initiated. Furthermore, plans are underway to redirect extra water from the Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar twin reservoirs in response to exigencies. They also mentioned that the Singur and Manjeera reservoirs had enough water reserves.

Water from dead storage at Yellampally reservoir for Godavari waters is being moved by emergency pumping. Additionally, plans are underway to redirect more water, contingent on demand, from the twin reservoirs of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar. They said that the Singur and Manjeera reservoirs had adequate water reserves in addition to this.
