The tirumala Tirupathi Devastanams (TTD) has decided not to accept any letters of reference for darshan or accommodation in tirumala due to the implementation of the election code. Nevertheless, until the code expires, only protocol dignitaries who arrive on their own will be granted Srivari darshan and accommodations.

The ttd said in a statement published on saturday that the letters of recommendation for accommodations and Srivari darshan in tirumala are annulled as of saturday according to the ttd Trust Board's decision, by the lok sabha and assembly election Code. The ttd urged VIPs and followers to respect the ruling and work with the administration.

On Friday, State Endowments Department officials assured members of the assembly that they would speak with their counterparts in andhra pradesh to make sure the ttd honored the letters that telangana MLAs and MLCs had written requesting special darshan of Lord Venkateswara at the tirumala temple. This assurance was given by the minister of Roads and Buildings, komati Reddy venkat Reddy.

He expressed worry, as did Payal Shankar, the bjp mla from Adilabad, about the treatment of devotees who had recommendation letters from State elected officials, and said the administration will attempt to resolve the matter by bringing it up with the ap government.
