The State is seeing an unheard-of rise in electricity consumption due to the early arrival of summer. Over 300 million units of power have been supplied every day in the State in the past week. Compared to march of last year, the Greater hyderabad region's electricity usage has increased by an astounding 30%. In the ghmc limits, the average power usage so far this month has been 69.31 mu, while it was 58.75 mu in march of the previous year.
 

In fact, on march 8, the State had both the largest daily energy consumption and the highest intra-day peak power load on the transmission, with the two measuring in at 15,623 megawatts and 305.19 million units, respectively.
 
The State's electricity consumption has been consistently above 300 mu for the past week. In comparison to the same period last year, when electricity usage was 289.73 mu, it was 305.43 mu on march 12. Similarly, compared to 292.62 mu the previous year, the electricity consumption on march 13 was 308.08 mu. The electricity consumption was 308.54 mu on march 14 and 307.35 mu on march 15, respectively, even on both days.


Power authorities claim that this year's early summertime increased demand, which rose from 15,110 MW on march 1 to 15,403 MW on march 6. According to the officials, the electricity demand in march of last year fluctuated between 14,527 MW on march 1 and 14,830 MW on march 6. The State's electricity consumption exceeded 15,000 MW even throughout march 11–15.
 
The electricity department blames increasing temperatures for the excessive usage in residential and business regions. The authorities predicted that once harvesting season begins, power demand will certainly rise much more.
 

The officials asserted that power distribution firms were meeting the whole demand for energy despite this spike in demand by using excellent management. "The State has more than enough electricity available for supply. Discoms are prepared to handle daily demand of up to 16,000 MW, according to an official.
