The controversy surrounding Union minister Shobha Karandlaje's remarks regarding the bomb blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru continues to escalate. Following a complaint lodged by DMK against tamil Nadu chief minister MK stalin, the election commission has intervened, directing the State election Commissioner to take action against Karandlaje.
The election commission instructed the State election Commissioner to initiate appropriate action within 48 hours and report back to the Central election Commission. Shobha Karandlaje had initially claimed that the bomb blast in Rameshwaram Cafe was orchestrated by an individual from tamil Nadu, but later issued an apology for her statement.
In her remarks, Karandlaje criticized the Siddaramaiah government, citing instances such as the assault on a businessman for playing Hanuman Chalisa during Azaan in Bengaluru. She alleged that individuals from various states were involved in such incidents, including planting bombs, raising pro-Pakistan slogans, and acid attacks.
In response to Karandlaje's claims, cm MK stalin denounced her statement, condemning it as absurd. He asserted that only individuals with authority like NIA officers or close involvement with the Rameshwaram Cafe blast should make such allegations. stalin emphasized that such divisive rhetoric by the bjp would be rejected by both tamil and kannada communities.
