Re-releases have been surprising, with a number of much awaited tollywood re-releases turning out to be mediocre to disastrous events. However, in their second innings, a lot of the films that were a flop during their first theatrical release years ago became huge hits. A prime example of the latter is Orange, which broke many records when it was released again in cinemas.

Magadheera, directed by SS Rajamouli, however, had the exact opposite outcome. Back in 2009, this ram Charan and Kajal Agarwal debut smashed all tollywood records and was a big hit in the industry. Coincidentally, ram Charan's biggest setback at the time was the release of Orange immediately after Magadheera. It caused all parties concerned to suffer enormous losses.

When Orange was re-released on Charan's birthday last year, it smashed Jalsa's record by grossing over 3.2 crores and recording very high occupancy rates worldwide. Due to the overwhelming popularity of Orange, more screens were added, and the re-release set new records. The reception to ram Charan's Magadheera, which was released this year, is shockingly rather bad. Apart from a few of fan shows, the occupancies are quite boring. When you consider the 2009 box office success of Magadheera, this is a horrible response. In every territory, both the populations and the occupancies are dreadfully low.
