Peethadhishwar Dhirendra krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham has stirred controversy with recent remarks targeting a fellow saint. His statement, cautioning against the criticism of politicians and saints, has garnered attention. Nigrahacharya Shri Bhagwatanand Guru has been challenging the achievements and activities of various sages, saints, and Peethadhishwars, including Pandit Dhirendra Shastri.

Expressing his discontent, Dhirendra krishna Shastri emphasized the use of knowledge to counter anti-religious sentiments instead of targeting saints. He cautioned against defaming saints for personal glorification and labelled such actions as cunning. Moreover, he warned of the potential exposure of wrongdoings if provoked, suggesting that even the associates of the accuser may not be spared.

This statement by Pandit Dhirendra Shastri has sparked controversy, drawing reactions from other sages and saints. Pandokhar Sarkar of Datia challenged him to demonstrate his character by focusing on spiritual matters rather than demeaning saints. Meanwhile, Swami Nigrahacharya criticized Shastri's supporters, attributing their allegiance to opportunism rather than genuine belief.

Saint Vairagyananda accused Dhirendra krishna Shastri of commercializing spirituality, likening his activities to running a business under the guise of religious devotion. He urged Shastri to expose corrupt leaders instead of indulging in superficial practices. Giri also echoed these sentiments, alleging that Shastri's association with Hanumanji lacked authenticity and was merely a facade for profit-making.
