TV9 and NTV waged a protracted struggle over TVR ratings for many years. tv9 was never able to compete with NTV. For most of the previous three years or so, it had held the top spot, moving tv9 into second place. There is also a significant rating discrepancy. There is no denying TV9's bias in favor of the BRS-YSR Congress. Although there was a little balance to portray it as impartial, NTV nevertheless had a similar slant. That strategy somewhat benefited NTV.
 
However, as the elections approach, the nature of the game is shifting. TV9's viewership spiked during election season due to its sensationalism. As a result, tv9 has a lead in the ratings throughout election season. This has occurred in the past during the telangana and Andhra elections. The fact that the big leaders choose tv9 over NTV is another crucial factor. ktr spoke with tv9 and NTV in a special interview during the telangana elections. However, the NTV interview is not visible. kcr recently granted tv9 an exclusive interview; NTV was not invited.
 
Prime Minister narendra Modi was interrogated by a panel of five editors, including tv9 Rajinikanth. The primary distinction between NTV and tv9 is Rajinikanth. Such an editor is not available at NTV to do these kinds of interviews. The fact that radhakrishna did the honour meant that even ABN's interview with ktr gained a lot of attention. In an attempt to remedy the problem, NTV attempted to project Chairman narendra Chowdary with an unsuccessful programme named "Chairman Desk," which was modelled after Radhakrishna's Weekend Comment. NTV needs to take quick action and come up with a solution to close the deficit.
