On Monday, the ysr congress party dismissed IPS officer AB Venkateswara and filed a complaint with the election commission of india (ECI) against retired Director-General of police R P Thakur for giving police officers instructions to assist and support the tdp during voting.

According to the complaint, YSRCP state general secretary lella appi reddy stated it was discovered that Venkateswara Rao and Thakur had been working against the YSRCP for the last five years while occupying the tdp headquarters in mangalagiri and monitoring the party's political agenda.

He claimed, "The two top cops are giving oral orders to the DG, IG, DIG, Deputy SP, Circle Inspectors, and district police Superintendents (SP) to work in the TDP's favour without arresting party supporters and to maintain a soft corner towards the tdp activists to do booth capturing and election rigging in the current polling."

They have an obligation to carry out their responsibilities impartially and with the highest care as active and retired police officers. Nonetheless, appi reddy claimed that Venkateswara Rao and Thakur conspired with the tdp, exploiting their power to direct police officers in the TDP's advantage.

"The only thing that makes these actions undemocratic is that they violate the Model Code of Conduct and abuse police power, which is why the Representation of the people Act (RP)-1951 treated them as crimes," the speaker stated.

"We ask that ECI look into this matter right away and, following an investigation, take action against Thakur and Venkateswara Rao. reddy suggested in the complaint that the ECI also advise police officers on duty to behave impartially and freely without taking orders from anybody.
