Following recent food inspections that revealed poor hygiene, cleanliness, and expired food products in the kitchens of restaurants in the city and throughout the state, the National Restaurant Association of india (NRAI) hyderabad chapter decided to develop a restaurant hygiene rating system right away.

The NRAI hyderabad branch has formed a specific food safety task group to develop a grading system while also ensuring that FSSAI rules are effectively implemented in restaurants. According to the action plan, the task force would implement a hygiene audit program for eateries, with third-party auditors monitoring quality.

The 15-member task force, coordinated by NRAI hyderabad chapter president sampath Tummala, would organize several FSSAI awareness workshops/training to educate all restaurant employees, with the first session taking place on Thursday.

In collaboration with the FSSAI and ghmc, the task force plans to organize a food safety week in the coming weeks, as well as medical camps to award food handler credentials to restaurant employees.

"As a responsible body, we have constituted this special taskforce that will take all necessary measures of utmost priority to enhance awareness and knowledge about all required protocols of food safety amongst all F&B Operators," stated sampath Tummala.

Members of the NRAI food safety task force met with telangana State Food Safety Commissioner RV Karnan on thursday and informed him of the task force formed by the NRAI to collaborate with the FSSAI body and the ghmc to improve food and hygiene standards in the city.

During the conference, Karnan recommended that cleanliness ratings be added and displayed in restaurants to increase customer awareness. Both sides have agreed to conduct a significant event in the coming months to raise awareness of the essential processes.
