The election commission is scheduled to conduct a news conference on monday in delhi at 12:30 PM, one day before the massive vote tallying for the lok sabha elections on june 4. The election commission sent out a media invitation that said, "Press Conference by election commission of india on General elections 2024." This may be the first time the poll body has called a news conference following a poll's results in the history of elections in the nation.

In response to congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh's public statement on his social media account, which claimed that Union home minister amit shah had called 150 district Magistrates just days before the planned vote counting on june 4, the election commission requested factual information and details from Ramesh earlier on Sunday.

To enable further necessary action, the poll panel has requested a response from jairam ramesh by june 2, 2024, evening.

On Saturday, june 1, the long seven-phase polling procedure for the lok sabha elections that started on april 19 came to a close.

The BJP-led NDA, which is now in power, was expected to surpass its record of 352 seats won in 2019 according to exit polls. According to two surveys, the bjp would get more seats in the lok sabha than the 303 seats it secured in the 2019 elections.

Prime minister Narendra Modi would become the first prime minister since jawaharlal nehru to win three consecutive terms in the lok sabha elections if exit poll predictions about the bjp taking back control come true on june 4 when the votes are tabulated.
