On Saturday, june 1, the food safety section of GHMC's Task Force team raided several pubs and eateries in Lakdikapul.

The Kitchen of Moonlight Bar at Hotel Ashoka was found to violate many food safety regulations.

The group found that the expired chicken Leg Boneless (5 kg), Liquid Caramel Colour (10 kg), and Green Gramme Dal (10 kg) were black beetle-infested. These things were thrown out right away.

In addition, 24 cashew packs were confiscated for violating the labeling guidelines set out by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of india (FSSAI). Further contamination hazards were revealed during the examination, which also revealed a cockroach infestation close to the red meat storage room.

Positively, the inspection discovered that dustbins were kept closed with lids and that partially cooked food items were appropriately covered and labeled within the refrigerator. The food handlers at Hotel Ashoka have current pest control records and proper medical fitness certifications. The FSSAI license for the hotel was also conspicuously displayed.

Because of the serious errors found, a notification has been sent out by the FSSAI Act.

Hydrate – The Bar
During a second inspection at Hydrate-The Bar, the crew detected expired food items in the kitchen area. They were quickly disposed of, including 10 kg of chilled chicken wings, 0.9 kg of Amul peanut butter, and 5 kg of pasta and macaroni.

In addition, they confiscated four containers of barbecue sauce because they did not have importer labels, which is against food safety laws. Unsatisfactory sanitation procedures were also discovered during the inspection; dustbins were discovered to be open without the necessary covers, raising worries about contamination.
The group also noticed that food workers lacked medical fitness certifications.

While partially cooked food items kept in the fridge were covered, their labels were not properly labelled, which might have caused misunderstanding or misidentification of the contents. Furthermore, as required of all food outlets, The Bar did not have a valid copy of its Food Safety and Standards Authority of india (FSSAI) licence on display at the location.

Hotel New Fishland
As they carried out more raids, officials found a number of other infractions at the well-known restaurant Hotel New Fishland.

A rat infestation was discovered during the inspection in the kitchen area, where live rats were running around freely on the flooring and even in the exhaust vents. Rat traps were not installed as a result to deal with the problem.
After more investigation, it was discovered that artificial food colouring was used in the kitchen; these were immediately thrown out. Furthermore, it was discovered that dustbins were not covered and did not meet basic sanitary requirements.

The restaurant committed a serious oversight by failing to keep records of pest control procedures and personnel medical fitness certifications. Food products that were partially cooked and kept in refrigerators were not properly labelled or covered.

Additionally, the eatery did not show off its FSSAI licence. Authorities have issued a notice in accordance with the FSSAI Act in response to these infractions.
