The legendary media baron Cherukuri ramoji rao passed away this morning after a protracted illness brought on by age-related conditions. ramoji rao, who used letters as a weapon and dedicated his life to serving the underprivileged, will always be remembered for his lasting impact on telugu journalism. He never wavered in his support of the people's rights and in exposing the shortcomings of the government. Without fear or favour, eenadu embodied the greatest standards of journalism values.

Along with NT Ramarao, eenadu was crucial in bringing a stop to the corrupt and self-centered policies that characterised the congress government in 1983. Later on, we seen him oppose the despotic government of the Late ysr and, more recently, jagan Mohan Reddy. ysr met an unpleasant end to the battle when he was involved in an accident. However, ramoji rao was the one who overthrew Jagan. He made a significant contribution to telugu literature while never using any english in his television or newspaper writing.

According to the staff at eenadu, back in his healthier days, he would carefully read every word in the Fine Print and would become quite irate if even a single english word happened to slip past. By means of his eenadu Foundation, he also participates in several charitable endeavours. The second-highest honour in India, the Padma Vibhushan, was bestowed to him by the government in 2016. He fits the role of Bharat Ratna well. Hopefully, the narendra modi administration will give it to him in posthumous honour.
