India's skipper, rohit sharma, was struck on friday in New York during a workout. To the relief of his colleagues, the support staff and indian cricket fans, the veteran player dismissed it and carried on batting. Days before india and Pakistan's highly anticipated t20 world cup 2024 encounter at the Nassau County cricket Stadium in New York, Rohit appeared concentrated following the devastating blow.

When a ball from one of India's throwdown experts jumped off a fair length on the practice pitches at the training complex in New York, it struck rohit sharma in the fingers. In the midst of the training strip, Rohit received care from the indian physiotherapists. After a brief break in batting practise, Rohit was cleared to resume batting in the middle.

During India's opening game against ireland in New York, rohit sharma was struck on his hand, close to his biceps, and this was the second time he had been struck severely. After hitting the game-winning fifty against ireland, Rohit was forced to withdraw due to injury. Before deciding to take a cautious step and leave the pitch, Rohit downplayed the severity of the injury, claiming he was only slightly pained.
