PM Modi swears in for a record third term in a row!!!!

After two full terms during which the bjp held a majority on its own, Prime Minister-designate narendra modi took the oath of office today for a third consecutive term leading a coalition administration. The first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who triumphed in the general elections of 1952, 1957, and 1962, was matched by Mr. Modi, who is 73 years old. Along with other cabinet Ministers, Nitin Gadkari took an oath of office on sunday following Mr. Modi, Rajnath Singh, and amit Shah.

Mr. Modi has inducted a number of MPs from the nda allies as a way of rewarding the BJP's coalition partners. In Andhra Pradesh, where the national democratic alliance (NDA) won 21 out of 25 lok sabha seats, two MPs each from the telugu desam party (TDP) and the bharatiya janata party (BJP) took the oath of office. Several leaders have been inducted into the cabinet, including sarbananda sonowal of the bjpH.D. Kumaraswamy of the JD(S), Pemmasani Chandrashekhar of the TDP, and ram mohan Naidu of the TDP. Today, nirmala sitharaman and Nitin Gadkari, both Union Ministers, also took the oath of office.

In this election, the bjp secured 240 seats, but it was unable to secure the necessary 272 majority, as the nda secured 286 seats. This is far less than the 303 seats it won in 2014 and the 282 seats it got in 2019, respectively, to have a majority by itself. Leaders of seven South Asian and indian Ocean nations were present at the swearing-in ceremony concurrently.
