They also announced a ₹20 lakh reward for information leading to the terrorist's location. terrorists assaulted a 53-seater bus on sunday that was transporting visitors from Katra's Mata vaishno devi shrine to the Shiv Khori temple. The incident happened in the Poni region, close to Teryath village. Following the gunshots, the bus carrying pilgrims from Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh went into a deep gorge in the Reasi district.

A police official was quoted by news agency PTI as stating, "Reasi police announce a reward of ₹20 lakh for any fruitful information about the whereabouts of the terrorist involved in the recent attack on the yatri bus in the area of Pouni." He claimed that the terrorist's sketch was created using the details provided by witnesses and urged others to come forward with more information.
