The congress government's deadline for designating regular Vice Chancellors (VCs) to ten State institutions has not been met. The government recently designated bureaucrats as VCs in charge, but by june 15th, it intended to assign regular VCs to ten universities. As an example, on May 21, the government of osmania university (OU) nominated M Dana Kishore, the principal secretary of the MA&UD department, as the acting vice-chancellor (VC) effective immediately. This appointment would last until june 15, 2024, whichever comes first.

Though technically Dana Kishore's tenure as OU's chief venture capitalist is finished, given the specified deadline was june 15, not much has changed since then, unlike the other nine institutions.

It has been reported that chief minister A revanth reddy gave the education Department officials instructions to choose the regular VCs before the expiration of the outgoing VCs' term on May 21.

Though the obligatory university-wide search panels were formed on May 15, the usual VC selection procedure seems to have been put on hold. The university Grants Commission, the executive council of the relevant university, and a nominee from the state government make up each search committee.

Sources claim that although the search committees were established on May 15, the committee nominees were informed during the final week of May. "The search committee meeting is expected to take place in the near future, according to the order copy.

The committee meeting has not advanced thus far, and the government has not requested dates for one of these meetings. One of the search panel nominees told "India Herald," "I don't know why the meeting is being delayed."

According to the procedure, a search committee specific to each institution selects three names from among the qualified candidates for the vice chancellor post. The government then presents the names to the governor, who also serves as chancellor of the universities, for consideration of appointment.

On january 27, the administration sent a notice soliciting applications for the ten state institutions. 312 individuals submitted 1,382 applications in response to the announcement; some of them applied to more than one university.
