Three indian police service (IPS) officials were removed by the andhra pradesh (AP) administration on Thursday. The policemen were accused of having targeted telugu desam party (TDP) leaders, including party president N. chandrababu naidu, during the congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='ysr congress-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>ysr congress Party's tenure.

A week after assuming office as the Chief Minister, chandrababu naidu shunted out the three officials, who had become controversial for allegedly favoring the then-ruling party. kasi reddy V. R. N. reddy, director General, anti-corruption bureau (ACB), P. V. sunil Kumar, director General, ap State Disaster Response Force and fire services, and Y. Rishanth reddy, Superintendent of police, Counter Intelligence (CI) Cell, have been transferred.

After receiving complaints from the tdp, the election commission of india dismissed V. R. N. reddy from his position as director General of police (DGP) a few days before the May 13 polls. reddy was then assigned to the loop line position of Commissioner, Printing, Stationery, and Stores Purchase.

There were no fresh assignments offered to the other two officers. Rishanth reddy has been told to go to the DGP office, and sunil Kumar has been told to report to the General Administration Department (GAD). Also released from the entire extra charge as SP (Red Sanders) Task Force was the latter.
 
The previous administration appointed V.R.N. reddy as DGP in 2022. At that time, he held the position of DGP (Intelligence). A week before the state's assembly and lok sabha elections, the election commission of india had ordered his transfer as DGP after tdp leaders had repeatedly complained about inadequate security measures at the Prime Minister's public meeting in Chilakaluripet.
 
The tdp had also expressed suspicions in a letter to the ECI about V.R.N. Reddy's possible participation in the alleged use of Pegasus software to tap the mobile phones of Chandrababu Naidu's son nara lokesh and the party general secretary.
 
Former Chief of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) and 1993 batch indian police service (IPS) officer sunil Kumar was appointed DG, of the State Disaster Response Force and fire Services. The CID filed charges against chandrababu naidu and other tdp leaders during his administration.
 
These incidents include the Inner Ring Road fraud, the SSC question paper leaking scam, and the suspected insider trade of lands in Amaravati. tdp has filed a complaint against Rishanth reddy with the ECI, referring to him as an ardent YSRCP supporter.
