The most well-known filmmaker in kollywood of this age, lokesh kanagaraj, was lately the subject of rumors that he was going to abandon his much-awaited movie Coolie, which starred superstar Rajinikanth. Just before filming was set to start, lokesh deleted all references to Coolie from his social media accounts, which alarmed fans.
Additionally, Coolie's composer Ilaiyaraaja submitted a copyright complaint to the film's creators for utilizing his music in the trailer without his consent. Amidst these disputes, speculation that Coolie had been fired permanently began to surface. But now that he's posted a picture of Rajinikanth in character, lokesh has silenced his critics and shown that the movie is moving on.

In the image released by lokesh kanagaraj, Rajinikanth is seen wearing a black suit and a chic hairpiece to keep his salt-and-pepper look. Rajini's appearance is among his best of late. Filming was supposed to begin in June, however it has been rescheduled for July 2024.

A trailer for Coolie was unveiled in April, featuring Rajinikanth's fashionable attire and making a suggestion about a nod to amitabh Bachchan. As the project's musical composer, Anirudh is involved. Given that Coolie is set outside of lokesh Kanagaraj's typical cinematic milieu, it represents a considerable departure for him.
