The Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway should be expanded to six lanes, and the southern portion of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) should be designated as a national highway, according to a request made on wednesday by chief minister A revanth reddy to government minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. Additionally, he made a plea for the acceleration of current projects related to the State's numerous national roadways.

The chief minister met with Gadkari in Delhi, accompanied by deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Komatireddy venkat Reddy, D sridhar Babu, and others, presenting proposals for new national roads in telangana among other development projects.

Revanth reddy stressed the necessity of starting national highway construction right away, particularly the 158.645 km (already designated as a national highway) Narsapur-Toopran-Gajwel-Bhongir-Choutuppal route. He stated that the State government, which was responsible for half of the land acquisition costs, had accelerated the project and was also seeking the designation of the southern portion of the rrr and the Choutuppal-Amangal-Shadnagar-Sangareddy (181.87 km) road as national highways, in addition to releasing funds under the National Highways Authority of India's annual plan (NHAI).

Hyderabad to bhadrachalam Road
The chief minister also emphasised the importance of completing the remaining work quickly on the NH-930P, which connects hyderabad (ORR Gourelli Junction) to Valigonda, Thorrur, Nellikuduru, Mahabubabad, Illendu, and Kothagudem. Only 69 km of the whole stretch's worth of construction has started on the first package. When this route is finished, it will take around 40 km less to go from hyderabad to Bhadrachalam. He implored the Centre to issue a call for bids to start construction on the 165 km of the three other packages that make up this national route.

Widening of Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway
Revanth reddy stressed the necessity of widening the Hyderabad-Vijayawada (NH 65) national highway to six lanes, voicing worries over excessive traffic on the route. He mentioned that every day, around 60,000 cars use this vital road. In order to make the expansion possible, he asked the NHAI and the contract business to resolve their differences.

The chief minister also spoke about the continuing 142 km of construction on the national highway route from Kalwakurty to Kolhapur, Somasila, Kariveva, and Nandyal (NH-167K), and he asked that work on the final 32 km of the road, which includes a famous bridge project, begin. He said that when this route is finished, it will take 70 km less to go from hyderabad to Tirupati. Additionally, he asked for permission to expand the Hyderabad-Kalwakurty route (NH 765K) from two lanes to four. He asked for a 62-kilometer, four-lane elevated corridor in the Amrabad tiger Reserve Forest between hyderabad and srisailam (NH 765). However, the project was postponed since forest and environmental permissions were still pending.
