A total of seven times the world cup reached the semi-finals and never reached the final. The team has been with this pain for the last 32 years. Because of this, fans used to taunt the team as "Sockers". south africa bowled out afghanistan for 56 runs in the 2024 t20 World Cup. south africa then reached the target in 8.5 overs and won by 9 wickets. With this, the team has advanced to the finals of the world cup for the first time.
