Fans of B-town star deepika padukone may be a little let down by her quiet role in her most recent movie, kalki 2898 AD, after witnessing her amazing performances in films like "Pathaan" and "Jawan." "I don't think so because her role was important and the core of the movie," says renowned producer M S Raju, who has worked on successful films like as "Okkadu" and "Varsham."

He continues, "Even deepika would be content with her distinctive role and her calm performance as the pregnant woman who is determined to save her infant against all odds." He asserts that in order to appeal to a wider audience, the "Kalki" producers did not want to put prabhas and deepika together and record a few songs after creating a love track between them. He notes, "This is exactly what the makers avoided since they wanted to make a path-breaking film and didn't want to churn out a clichéd movie with the usual tropes of dances between prabhas and Deepika."

He asserts that deepika attempted something new in her first telugu film, despite having previously demonstrated her acting and dance abilities in a number of bollywood productions. "Well done to her for accepting this unique role. She expressed a desire to be a part of a larger, more expansive magnum opus," he continues. How much longer does she get to spend on screen in the second part? He stops off, "We don't know, let's cross our fingers."
