At the hindi box office, Nag Ashwin's kalki 2898 AD has had a great start. Preliminary trends point to a first-day business of between Rs 21.00 and 22.00 crore. The movie, which stars prabhas, deepika padukone, and amitabh bachchan, hopes to beat Fighter, which starred hrithik roshan and Deepika, as the largest hindi opening of the year. Expectations were high that kalki would cross the 25-crore milestone, but it hasn't happened because the major semi-final match appears to have hurt Kalki's collections and the night shows haven't showed a significant increase because tomorrow is a working day.

The movie did well in andhra pradesh and Telangana, but outside of Hyderabad, it did not perform up to par. karnataka performed really well. kerala and tamil Nadu have fared rather well. With an estimated 90–95 crore in domestic net collections, kalki has made between 175 and 180 crore worldwide. Across multiplexes and single screens, the movie has done well, and big chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis are aiming for an opening day target of Rs 10 crore.

The audience's response and early reviews are largely good, while some have expressed reservations about the first part. Over the following three days, the movie's performance will reveal more about its long-term direction. The goal for the prabhas and deepika padukone film is to gross Rs 90 crore in hindi over the course of the long weekend, with sunday perhaps approaching Rs 30 crore. Reaching nearly a century this weekend would indicate that fans are strongly endorsing the show, indicating that kalki 2898 AD has a bright future ahead of it.
