A bomb threat brought on by a passenger's comment caused a several-hour delay for a flight from kolkata to pune on Friday. At around midday, a private airline aircraft from kolkata to pune with a layover in bhubaneswar experienced an issue during check-in. The Airports Authority of india (AAI) reports that a customer asked, "Is there a bomb in there?" after growing irritated with the extensive security inspection of his bags.

This casual comment provoked a strong reaction. As soon as possible, security officers evacuated the half boarded aircraft and thoroughly searched both the aircraft and all of the passenger belongings. A careful examination turned out nothing dangerous.

Eventually, the aeroplane took off for its destination at 5:30 p.m., although many hours late.

This event happened not too long after the kolkata airport got two fictitious bomb threats in April.

A passenger on an air india Express flight from Bagdogra to pune uttered the word "bomb" during a second-level baggage check, outraged by several baggage checks. This led to a full emergency alert, the passenger's arrest, and a five-hour thorough search of the entire aircraft before it could finally depart the city. When the aircraft from Bagdogra to kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, and pune arrived in kolkata at 12:30 pm, airline staff was requesting the approximately 67 passengers to identify their bags as they were rechecking the cabin baggage.
