The tollywood industry has a notable affinity with politics, with many film celebrities successfully transitioning into political careers. While figures like NTR, Pawan Kalyan, and chiranjeevi are often mentioned, babu mohan stands out as one of the successful actors who ventured into politics. Known for his comedic roles during our younger days, babu mohan was a prominent figure on television, often delivering memorable comedy routines.

Babu Mohan has been active in the industry since 1986. He joined the telugu desam party (TDP) when it was formed by Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). In this context, he won a seat as an mla for the tdp in 1999, representing the Andol Constituency of medak District. During his tenure, he also served as the minister of Social Welfare.

Despite continuing in politics, babu mohan did not receive further positions within the TDP. Following the formation of the telangana state, he joined the telangana rashtra samithi (TRS) and won from the Andol constituency again in 2014. He served until 2018, but after actions that displeased KCR, he lost his ticket for the 2018 assembly elections. Subsequently, babu mohan resigned from the trs and joined the BJP, where he was granted an mla ticket but lost in the elections.

In the recent 2023 assembly elections, babu mohan once again faced defeat and subsequently resigned from the BJP. Following disagreements with his son, he joined the Prajashanthi Party. Throughout his political journey, babu mohan encountered several controversies, particularly during his time with the trs, where he had clashes with party activists, leading to his departure.

Now, as he ages, babu mohan finds himself distant from the political scene, contemplating a withdrawal from politics.
