In the midst of a recent spike in cases, Bengaluru reported its first verified dengue-related fatality since january on Saturday, a senior official said. The victim, who was 27 years old and lived in CV Raman Nagar, passed away from the illness spread by vectors. Before this, on Friday, the city reported two probable dengue fatalities, which prompted the authorities to start an audit today to find out the precise causes.
 

Chief health Officer of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Dr. Syed Sirajuddin Madni, told PTI that the man died on june 27 from acute dengue with multiple organ failure syndrome, having been taken to Manipal Hospital on june 25 with a history of fever. The official said that an 80-year-old tamil Nadu woman with breast and colon cancer showed signs of dengue but did not pass away from the illness.
 

"Reports have been given to us. One of the two suspected dengue fatalities has been verified; this is Bengaluru's first dengue mortality case since january," he continued. chief minister Siddaramaiah gave authorities instructions on tuesday to give priority to the diagnosis and treatment of the viral virus in light of the increasing number of dengue cases reported around the state.
