Due to a significant increase in violent crimes including murder and attempted murder, the hyderabad police launched a large-scale "disarming operation" to confiscate guns from those who were unlawfully carrying them.
 
Police Commissioner K Sreenivasa reddy of hyderabad gave the order for vehicle checks and physical frisking operations in the city as part of the "disarming operation." police are physically frisking individuals at hotels, restaurants, main highways, lanes, and bylanes to send a message to the public.

There have been tales of young people wandering the streets with knives and daggers. We are doing a disarming exercise to stop them from lingering with lethal weapons', sneha Mehra, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) South Zone, stated.
 
People traveling in lanes are subjected to a thorough frisking by the hyderabad police during the late-night "Chabutra Mission" to evade police checks. Men who are discovered sitting in the areas late at night are physically frisked.
 
"Carrying a knife or dagger makes a person assume they are strong and capable of attacking or threatening anyone." Therefore, disarming is crucial to preserving peace and order in the city, according to Falaknuma ACP member B Yadagiri Swamy.
 
For the next few weeks, hyderabad police will keep disarming the city till some kind of normalcy returns. The individuals who market swords and daggers as high-end accessories are another target of the special teams. Two teams have been to karnataka and maharashtra to investigate the primary sources of weaponry that are being supplied to young people in hyderabad who then resale them for a profit.
 
The past month or two has seen a wave of heinous killings, which has put the hyderabad police on high alert, particularly in the Old City.
