The first half of 2024 is now over, and if we look at the movie office, it has been a mixed bag with a few box office successes strewn across the year with some blockbusters. Salaar opened 2024 with great success, selling out before Sankranti. Hanuman became an enormous blockbuster during the sankranti season, bringing in enormous earnings for all those who were engaged.
 
In spite of poor word-of-mouth, guntur Kaaram, another sankranti release, made respectable earnings in andhra pradesh and had strong recoveries there as well. Additionally beneficial for the investors, Naa Saami Ranga created a stir at the box office. Saindhav was the only sankranti release that did not function smoothly. tollywood suffered greatly after the sankranti season, with the majority of the films crashing on the first day of release.
 
Following sankranti, several films flopped after the first weekend. The only films that provided substantial returns to buyers were Tillu Square and the Malayal dubbed flicks Manjummel Boys and Premalu. The tollywood box office was affected by the elections as well, with summer films performing poorly.
 
Kalki 2898 AD, which brought audiences back to the cinemas towards the end of the first half of 2024, is doing rather well at the box office and is poised to become a very profitable endeavour. In the second half, tollywood has a number of significant projects planned, thus improved performance is anticipated from this point on.
