At a religious gathering in the hathras area of Uttar Pradesh, there was a catastrophic stampede that left 121 persons dead and several others injured. The event happened after Narayan Sakaar Hari, also called Sakaar vishwa Hari or Bhole baba, had concluded a satsang.

After the stampede occurred, Bhole baba has not been discovered, thus the police are searching for him.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath ordered authorities to respond quickly to the scene of the stampede in order to give aid.

Who is 'Bhole Baba'?
The Patiali tehsil in the Etah district is home to Bahadur village, where Bhole baba is from. He says he worked for the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in the past.

It is reported that he quit his government position 26 years ago to start preaching. He currently has millions of fans in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, western Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.

Notably, Bhole baba does not have an official account on any social media site, in contrast to many contemporary religious icons. According to his supporters, he has a significant grassroots effect.

Every Tuesday, Bhole baba hosts programmes in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, which attract thousands of people. Volunteers make sure that devotees have access to food and beverages throughout these events.

Bhole baba became well-known for drawing sizable audiences in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic's limitations.
