As a result of his vow to quit if the bjp lost any of the seven lok sabha seats he was responsible for, bjp leader Kirodi Lal meena has resigned from the rajasthan cabinet, his assistant announced on Thursday. The party lost a few seats, including Dausa, his home district, and the 72-year-old leader announced his resignation. During his lok sabha election campaign, he made the pledge.
 
"Minister Kirodi meena resigned. Ten days ago, he handed in his resignation to the chief minister," the assistant added.


The bjp secured 14 out of 25 seats in Rajasthan's lok sabha elections, but the congress shown improvement by winning eight seats, including Dausa. Three seats were won by other parties.
 
On june 4, the findings were made public.
 
Meena was in charge of many departments, including public charge resolution, disaster management, relief and civil defence, horticulture, and agriculture and horticulture.
 
Meena defeated Sawai Madhopur in the state assembly elections held last year, as the bjp secured 115 out of 200 seats and ousted the congress, which only managed 66.
