Buy tomatoes immediately & stock up... the price will go up rapidly..!!

Due to heavy rains in himachal pradesh and disruption of traffic, the supply of the main produce of the state has been interrupted and the price of tomatoes has risen sharply in the vegetable markets. At present, tomatoes are sold for up to Rs.80 per kg in some parts of the country.
According to the Price Monitoring Unit of the Consumer Welfare Department of the Ministry of Information, the average price of tomato rose to Rs 55 on July 3 from Rs 35 per kg in June. It is likely to rise to Rs 80 soon.
Buy tomatoes immediately and stock up, the price will go up rapidly..!! Traders used to send tomatoes grown in South india to North india, as tomatoes grown in South india will fetch higher prices if the supply of tomatoes in North india is low. On the other hand, in South india too, supply will decrease and prices will increase. Manoj Kumar, who is a vegetable dealer in the wholesale market of Azadpur Mandi, said, "Due to the heavy rains in himachal pradesh, the arrival of tomatoes has decreased due to the disruption of traffic. Due to this, the price is expected to rise further."
According to the india Meteorological Department (IMD), various tomato-producing areas of himachal pradesh, which is a major supplier of tomatoes to North india, are expected to receive heavy rainfall till July 7. This may further increase the price of tomatoes. It may be recalled that last year also due to heavy rains and floods the price of tomatoes crossed Rs.350 per kg. Due to the availability of quality tomatoes, McDonald's restaurants in North india had to temporarily stop selling tomato-based dishes.
Generally, vegetable prices increase during the rainy season. Due to rains, there is difficulty in harvesting and packing of vegetables, and wastage of vegetables during transportation is the reason for the price increase.
