K Armstrong's murder - Special squad to track down suspects...

K Armstrong, the president of the tamil Nadu Bahujan Samaj party (BSP), was reportedly killed on friday night close to his chennai home, according to people familiar with the situation. Six individuals riding three bikes attacked him, according to a police official who requested to remain anonymous. At approximately 7.30 p.m., Armstrong was talking to his friends on the road close to his Perambur, northern chennai, home when the murder was committed. After being sent to a private hospital, he passed away from his wounds. He was hurt in his neck and head.

The official went on to say that the entire area has been placed under lockdown and that the chennai police have opened a murder investigation. A special squad has been established to hunt out the suspects. There is a murder case pending with the chennai police. The police claimed that a special team had been assembled to hunt down the culprits and that the entire area had been placed under lockdown. Despite the BSP's lack of political influence in chennai, Amstrong, one of its advocates, was a well-known Dalit voice. In 2006, he was a member of the Greater chennai Corporation's ward council.

The killing shocked both the ruling party's allies and the opposition. Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK, formerly known as the Dalit Panthers of India) politician D ravikumar stated, "The tamil Nadu government should take steps to quickly arrest and punish the killers." "I strongly condemn the DMK government for pushing law and order to such a bad level that people can commit crimes without fear of the law, the government, or the police," stated Edappadi Palaniswami, general secretary of the AIADMK.

"Through the last three years under the DMK regime, violence and brutality have not only no place in our society, but have also become the norm in TN," wrote bjp state president K annamalai on X. According to chennai police, 10 special teams would be led by Asra Garg, the additional chief of police, to look into the reasons behind the murder and apprehend the culprits.
