The telangana government has declared that it has made it easier for recipients of the Gruha jyothi plan, also known as the free power plan, to get benefits by facilitating the rectification of their unique service number (USC) at Praja Palana facilities.

Upon inspecting the registration process of free power scheme beneficiaries at the nalgonda Rural Mandal Praja Parishad office, Musharaf Faooqui, chief managing director of telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL), discovered that many customers had entered the incorrect USC number in their applications.

Telangana-qualifying families can receive 200 units of free power under the Gruha jyothi initiative. zero bills are generated as part of this initiative by applying it to the USC number that customers provide at Praja Palana programs.

However, because there are differences in connecting food security cards and service connections, recipients are unable to take advantage of the program when they move.

The government has taken into consideration the suggestions from different groups and implemented measures to update the USC number at the facilities. After requests from various communities, the government has considered it and made provisions to correct the USC (electricity connection) number.
