Residents and everyday commuters are concerned that the local Military Authorities (LMA) may once more impose limits on civilian access to these roads in light of the building of gates between Richardson Road and Bison Gate. Locals noted that construction of gate-like structures has been ongoing in these regions for the previous few days, raising questions about their intended use.

The road is open now, but the LMA recently blocked it off and restricted civilian access. Still, peak hours are when security inspections take place. There is worry among some neighbors that the building being erected will resemble a toll gate, causing commuters to suffer the same inconveniences they have for decades because of road restrictions.

Locals have been compelled to travel an extra eight to ten kilometers as a result of these closures, and limitations and security checks are routinely implemented without prior notice to the public. It would be advantageous if the relevant authorities made clear why these gates are there. There is now more traffic congestion as a result of the work and road limitations.

"It's unclear why the construction is happening and whether the gates will be locked once more. Even ten years ago, the local military blocked Lakdawala Junction suddenly and without cause. Although five roads—Richardson Road, Protnee Road, Byam Road, Albain Road, and Ammuguda Road—were reopened last year, restrictions are still in place and are applied without warning, according to commuter Manoj Kumar.

The public has been inconvenienced by road closures, which have increased gasoline prices by requiring drivers to take longer routes. The competent authorities ought to give precise information. Nikhil Sriram, a resident and regular commuter, suggested that signboards be put up if any traffic restrictions are planned so that the community is aware.
