Social activists criticized video footage of an inspector using a lathi to strike regular people who were standing on the roadways after it became popular on social media. When the event happened, local inspector Durga prasad was riding her motorbike around the Moghalpura police station at night. The Inspector is reported to have struck children who were standing in the middle of the road.

“At least three or four youngsters were beaten up with the fiber stick by the inspector for just standing on the road in the night. There are no prohibitory orders enforced in the city nor there are any official restrictions on public movement during the night. The behavior of the inspector is highly condemnable,” lamented S Q Masood, a social activist.

Masood demanded action against the Inspector in a letter addressed to Telangana's director General of police after the event. The incident took place in Moghalpura police station limits when the local Inspector Durga prasad was on night rounds on a motorcycle.

"Durga prasad is flagrantly violating people's rights to privacy, dignity, and liberty by filming these occurrences and posting them on social media. In addition to being inappropriate, this kind of conduct by a law enforcement official erodes public confidence in the police, Masood said.

He went on to accuse Durga prasad of breaching the human rights of common people and of giving an urgent order to halt the "Mission Chabutra," an unlawful operation that targets impoverished residents of particular districts.
