On Tuesday, thousands of prospective employees showed up in Kalina, Mumbai, for a walk-in interview at air india Airport services Ltd. The organisation conducted walk-in interviews for 2,216 positions of handyman—a worker who handles a variety of maintenance and repair duties.

A sizable throng gathered outside the recruiting office despite the small number of openings, and things quickly got out of hand. The candidates were instructed to leave the area and deposit their resumes. George Abram, general secretary, Aviation industry Employees Guild, said the recruitment process was mismanaged.

There were thousands of openings, and people were called. They came in with demand drafts, but we warned them not to accept any money just yet and to come back later," stated Abram. For those who don't know, air india Air Transport services Limited was the previous name of air india Airport services Ltd.

A tweet on X claims that the number of attendees quickly went out of control, causing the organisers to alter their strategy and urge applicants to leave their resumes and leave the property in order to maintain order. The incident draws attention to the fierce rivalry for employment and raises questions about how such large-scale recruitment events are organised. Notwithstanding the difficulties, the organisers guaranteed that all resumes would be examined and that qualified applicants would be contacted for additional steps.
