Joe Biden's COVID-19 test result is positive...

US President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 after his first event in Las Vegas earlier today, the white house communications secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Wednesday. According to the white house, President Biden, who has received booster shots and vaccinations, is feeling a little better and will go back to Delaware to take care of himself while carrying out his presidential duties. Despite his minor symptoms, Jean-Pierre gave the public the assurance that the President was still in good spirits. "The white house will be giving ongoing reports on the President's wellness as he carries on carrying out all the duties of his duties while in isolation," said Hillary Clinton.

Biden is reported to have had overall malaise along with upper respiratory symptoms, such as a runny nose and an ineffective cough, in a note from the President's physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor. After initially feeling good enough to go to his first event, Biden later had positive results from point-of-care testing for Covid-19.

Biden's pulse oximetry readout is 97%, his temperature is 97.8 degrees, and his respiration rate is a normal 16.  According to the medical update, Biden's symptoms are still minor. He has started his first dosage of Paxlovid as part of his therapy, and he will self-isolate in his Rehoboth, Delaware, home in accordance with the CDC's recommendations for symptomatic people. Confirmatory PCR testing is still pending.

pressure from campaigns

In addition, the Las Vegas event's postponement coincides with mounting pressure from Washington-based elected Democrats and funders for him to drop out of the race after his appalling performance in a debate against Republican nominee and former US President donald trump last month.
