Netflix derived revenue for a considerable amount of time by charging users to see their tv series and films without commercial breaks. However, they began to offer a less expensive package with advertisements in late 2022. amazon similarly used its Prime Video business. This adjustment is the result of slower subscriber growth for both firms.

They're introducing advertisements today since it's getting more and more common and profitable to do video advertising. It is anticipated to generate about $63 billion in revenue globally this year, up from $26.2 billion in 2020. A significant portion of the money comes from YouTube's constant ad revenue. amazon and Netflix each want a share of that revenue.

Both businesses are searching for new clients outside of the US in order to continue expanding. To draw more clients to their services, they are producing more television series and films in locations such as europe and India. They used to concentrate on convincing users to pay for memberships, but these days they're attempting to entice non-paying users with free choices that nonetheless contain advertisements. All in all, they're attempting to strike a balance between generating revenue from advertisements and satisfying users with quality material.
