Three years ago, the Center's decision to privatize visakha Steel in the name of disinvestment worried all the people of Andhra. visakha steel workers have been protesting in various forms since then. Even in the last three years, only 60 percent of the production is coming from Visakhapatnam Steel without any operating funds. Sufficient working capital or Rs. 20 thousand crores worth of machinery remains unused. The production of two and a half million tonnes has come to a halt with the shutdown of one blast furnace-3 from 2022. Raibareli forge wheel plant owned by vizag Steels was sold for Rs.2000 Crores but it was not useful for anything.
25 acres of valuable land for the plant in Visakhapatnam has been put up for sale as plots. There is also a stay in the court on these. But recently it has been proposed to sell chennai and hyderabad along with steel stock points and office buildings in various cities for 500 crores. At this stage, Andhra people are hoping to see what kind of decision the Modi 3.0 government will take in the latest political situation. Andhra MPs want to fight in parliament and clear the Visakhapatnam steel privatization issue. Our MPs cm Ramesh, Shri Bharat, Rammohan Naidu, and Pemmasani need to fight hard on this issue in Parliament. Because if all of them think about it then surely this work will be possible.
