Dibrugarh Express accident - loud explosion...

Prior to the disaster, the train driver claimed hearing a huge explosion, when the Dibrugarh Express derailed at Gonda on Thursday, killing two and injured twenty. A passenger who was traveling with him claimed to have heard a small explosion just before the collision, which happened 150 kilometers from lucknow in the Motiganj region. I needed to travel to Hajipur. Within fifteen minutes of departing Gonda, the train tipped twice, to the left and right, and on the third occasion, we all tumbled to the left. Before the incident, there was a small explosionand then there was a big shock, causing our coach to derrail. The traveler informed ANI, "We were traveling from Chandigarh.

At 01:58 p.m., the passenger train departing chandigarh for Dibrugarh passed the Gonda station. It was supposed to arrive at Basti next, but it derailed just after it passed the Motiganj railway station. Traveling in a sleeper coach, sandeep Kumar told PTI that he heard cries in the vehicle. "I recall the loud cries of a boy who was sitting on the berth across from me," he remarked. The carriage was suddenly completely black and covered in dust. What transpired within the next several seconds escapes my memory. I just recall the cries and the fact that a few other passengers grabbed my hand and assisted me in opening the window.

The coaches' noisy departure from the track and leftward tumble was accompanied by the passengers' raucous yells, particularly from the younger ones. After the train left Gonda, another passenger, dileep Singh, who was heading to Chhapra in Bihar, claimed, "I climbed to the upper berth to catch a nap." All I can recall is a rough and tumble guy who threw me onto the upper bunk on the opposite side. It wasn't a dream, despite my hopes.

Sunita Sethiya, 42, who was traveling from chandigarh to Gorakhpur, told PTI that she had gone to the restroom at the time of the incident. "I had a sharp shock right after I stepped outside. Fortunately, one gate was closed. I was struck by the gate. If the gate had been open, I would have instantly dropped to the ground. The villager and the folks in the surrounding villages were really helpful to us," she stated.
