Telangana scored 74 in 2023–24, a stunning five points higher than in 2020–21, making it the state most likely to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). In 2023–24, the national average score across 15 factors is 71, compared to 66 in 2020–21. The niti aayog issued the most recent SDG india Index report for 2023–2024 on Friday.
 

Telangana, Gujarat, and andhra pradesh were placed ninth, ninth, and ninth, respectively, in the final SDG Index report. The State received scores of 100/100 for clean and reasonably priced energy, 90/100 for good drinking water, and 84/100 for adequate employment and economic growth. With a score of 91 out of 100, it was ranked second in india for poverty alleviation, surpassing the 72 national average in many categories.
 

Telangana was identified by niti aayog as a performer with room for development in the areas of gender equality, industry, innovation and infrastructure, quality of education, zero hunger, and climate action. BRS working president KT Rama Rao expressed his delight at the State's accomplishment and added that the SDG report clarifies the telangana model's performance under former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's direction. The State scored 100/100 in providing affordable and clean energy, 90/100 in providing clean drinking water, and 84/100 in decent work and economic growth.
