Two names in particular come up in the continuous discussion of who the biggest star in indian films is, just because of their potential at the box office. prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan are the two names. There is now a social media movement among the bollywood audience, wherein certain Bolly fans assert that prabhas is more significant than Shah Rukh Khan.

A Bolly follower wrote, "Adipurush (-ve WOM) earned 392cr, which is still more than #Srk's (Raees, dilwale, zero, jab harry met sejal, fan) & Salaar Clashed with Dunki and crossed Dunki at BO, and recently #KALKI2898AD (Non-Holiday) crossed #Pathaan (corporate booking) lifetime fake collection in just 15 days." It's clear from the box office figures that Prabhas's failures are outperforming SRK's.

Even in a direct fight between Dunki and Salaar, prabhas prevailed. Dunki is a class picture, whereas Salaar is a mass production, but we can't expect stars to compete at the box office with similar films for the only goal of compressing. Thus, we must accept the situation as it is. Even though SRK had two monsters in Jawan and Pathan, both of these films encountered harsh criticism for using corporate bookings to boost box office receipts.

In terms of box office receipts, SRK and prabhas both have two 1000 crore earners: Baahubali 2 and kalki (as stated by the producers). The problem is that SRK succeeded with commercial films, whilst prabhas needs large event pictures to do the same. For the time being, the discussion about who is India's biggest star goes on. Maybe one of these two superstars who hits the 1000 crore milestone will be the next to successfully defend their crown.
