Andhra Pradesh benefits equitably from the national budget that was unveiled today by Union Finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman. ap is granted a cash allocation of Rs 15,000 crore through various agencies, in addition to other benefits from the national government.
 
But telangana, the other telugu state, received almost no funds or allocations from the new national budget, leaving it with a massive blank. The lack of any mention of telangana at today's budget session is causing dissatisfaction among the local populace.


In the most recent parliamentary elections, telangana awarded the bjp eight mp seats, the most seats the party has won in the state to date. The love of the telangana people did not, however, always translate into financial advantages for the state in terms of budgetary allotments.

The fact that the phrase "Telangana" is absent from the 62-page budget presentation says it all. It remains to be seen how the congress and BRS will use today's budget's reference to "Zero" to really drag the bjp to the mat.
